991.2 S caliper paint extremely faded.
Not having driven a 991.2 yet, I tested a Base and S back to back today at a dealer. I was skeptical at first, but after driving both I'm an official believer... Porsche nailed it with this new engine. Both cars felt great, but I definitely felt the extra HP of the S.
After the test drive while walking around the car, I noticed the front calipers were VERY faded. They literally looked pink they were so bad. The salesman noticed as well and mentioned they'd have them painted, but I just thought this was strange on a 1 year old car. I've never seen this on my previous 997's and they were both exposed to lots of heat and wear.
Anyone else experience this??

They should not be pink, but bright Brembo red.

Many chemical wheel cleaning products can discolor calipers as you describe. They might be saved with a good polish and wax job.

Wheels and calipers need nothing more than the same soap you use for the car. Not sure why people think some aggressive cleaning products are needed just because they're wheels and tires.
Some car wash places, even hand wash places are notorious for this.
I think the base model black calipers have a different coating than the reds and yellows. Seem to weather quicker. Correct? More of a flat finish?
