Default 19" vs 20"

Does anybody know the weights of 19" Carrera rims vs. 20" Carrera S rims? Or perhaps guide me to where I can find that info? I have searched and can't find it. With bigger tires and rims, I am sure it weighs more but not sure by how much.

I like my 19 inch rims for comfort and also with the 370 engine, I don't want to add weight there. But the 20" rims do look good, and I remember reading that people haven't noticed a change in ride comfort.

The .2 19s are 22.8 and 25.4 including sensors.

Not sure about the weights but I switched from 19" rims to the 20" Carrera classics. Didn't notice much, if any difference on the ride....feels fairly similar from inside the car. Looks wise the 20" are much better in my opinion.

I have only had 20" wheels on my 3 991's and the ride comfort on all has been great. (Caveat - I also had PDCC on all three cars.)

Even my winter wheels were 20"

^^ Thanks!

I am a bit more concerned about the weight at the wheels. Since I am ordering a C2, I need to weigh appearance against performance.

"You may not think about it, but wheel weight has a pretty big impact on vehicle performance. Lighter wheels require less energy to turn and slow down, which aids in fuel consumption and reduces brake wear. Because it takes less force to control them, lighter wheels also put less strain on the suspension."

Maybe also consider PCCBs?

OP didn't specify .1 or .2 weights, but in the interests of accuracy .2 rear wheels are 0.5" wider than .1 wheels, whatever that means for weight.

In theory thats got to be right but I can't believe and extra pound or two is going to cause any problems. Its also not going to affect the track performance of many of us on here. Oh yea, I went 20 because they look cooler.

Yep, 991.2. And going with the 20" this time based on ride experience of others here. There is no way of telling versus taking the 20's out for a long ride back-to-back with the 19's. But some here have said that ride comfort is compensated due to the wider tire on the 20's.

It may not matter in Virginia but, as one from farther north, 19" wheels provide more protection from pot hole damage than do the thinner 20" tires.

Which 20" wheels are you going with? One thing about Porsche wheels - I like them all!

I don't drive it much in the winter, so its not really an issue. I've decided on the 20" "S" wheels.
