I thought CPO just provides what is left of the original warranty from punch in date - and 2 yrs after that. and the 2 years are unlimited mileage. If the orig warranty has expired then its really a 2 year warranty with unlimited mileage. and the car has to be 8 years old or less(something like that)That's my interpretation. I had my dealer throw(negotiated) it in with my new 2017. and as I had already lost about 16 months as the car was punched in long ago and sat on the lot , albeit with 40 miles only, I just get an extra 6 months over my 4 yr warranty but still unlimited mileage. an one can by CPO with a new or used car.

^^^ Correct. Balance of any remaining original 4yr warranty, plus and extra 2yrs. If original 4 year is up, only a 2yr on a CPO.
Also correct on no older than 8 model years or over 100K miles to qualify as a CPO.

Cpo is an additional cost added onto the price of the car to have it warrantied longer
