Default Tequipment Cleaning set for 145 bucks any good?

Just got my brand new 911T and want to buy a starter cleaning kit, is the one offered by Porsche any good? Or do you recommend something different? I like that bag though.

Hank, welcome to Rennlist. Congrats on the new T. Go to Detailer's Domain web site, and sign-up for Phil's emails. Great place to buy car care products, and learn about his frequent sales. He'll probably have one coming up soon for Labor Day.

I'm sure they are fine/very good. But probably over-priced. Never the right quantity. Maybe 4 are good, and 2 suck? Maybe you don't want 1 or 2 products, but have to buy the whole kit. I like to pick my own selection. Not a fan of pre-set kits.

@LexVan Well put.

@Needsdecaf Thanks for the tip with Matt, I knew some of his GT3 videos already, but I did not know he has a shop.

Matt offers great Ready-To-Go Sets. Perfect.

Great to be on board!

You´ve got the best products in the market with a German company which has been in business for more years than most of the ones in America. Besides you can purchase some of these products at gas stations throughout Germany.

I am talking about SONAX!
PROST!

Welcome, hank. You got me going there, I looked at the tequipment white case of swag and though $145? I'm having that... but wrong item, that one's $949.

Indeed I have some products of Sonax already at home. I did not try them yet. I found some nice online shops through Google now, which offer quite a variety of products. Prost!

@_RS_ yea $945 for a few bottles of no-name cleaner is absurd. Porsche accessory prices are nothing that can be considered normal. I got some complementary gadgets of ebay for a fraction of their prices.

My preference is Detailed Image. They (like many other sources) have lots of info on procedures, tools, and products. One thing I like about DI is that they sell many different brands, and are not captive to any one make. But be warned, if you get even halfway serious about cleaning you will soon have more than a simple kit.

I found all products of Matt's ObsessedGarage Car Washing Package A in european online shops. Wasn't hard at all. So far so good.

Now I ask myself if I can take it a step further and go eco-friendly. Of course eco-friendly (allergic-free / groundwater-friendly) products will never achieve the results of the afformentioned products, but I could very well live with that. Any experiences, recommendations on that front? Please no political discussion about if the 911 is eco friendly and it makes sense. I think it's good to strife for "go green" whereever its personally affordable time-wise/money-wise.
