Might want to take the car to another dealer. The leak is pretty obvious. Claiming that there must be a puddle on the floor before they do a repair is bullsh*t. If the second dealer uses that puerile excuse, ask to see the policy in writing from a Porsche factory source.

Usually it expels it all over the garage floor. I've had that happen once already and prefer to go the less mess route, keeping the bobber in the middle

FWIW it was overfilled by the dealer :/

Did you ever get this resolved or get another opinion from a different dealer? I found the same issue when I was under my car last night for a 2,000 mile
oil change. Plan to send pics to my dealer tomorrow to see what they say...

I texted these photos to my SA at Porsche DTLA over the weekend. He forwarded to Porsche and was authorized a replacement pump. He just wanted to get it done before contaminating vacuum lines, if possible. He's also having his leather guy repair a rubbed spot on my seat bolster while it's in there- complimentary This dealership has been the absolute best in terms of providing me excellent service over the years!

sorry to ask this if it is repeated, but anyone on their 2nd or 3rd pump? I wonder if this issue is even fixed or are we just hamsters running on the wheel?

My SA claims that the original part has been superseded by a revised part, so who knows.

Now on a sample of one (that I know of), my friends 991.2 is on water pump #3. The original went at around 1,500mi, the first replacement at 2,500mi (1,000mi later). So far everything under warranty, as it should be, and so far the newest pump has gone about 600mi and all is well. The dealer indicates that there is no updated part, at least by part number.....I think I did read there was an update. If so, it didn’t work assuming the new one was installed at 1,500mi was indeed a new design.

Im sure Porsche will figure this out but it has to be a bit of a disappointment to those that have to put up with it.

Stay strong, and live life at 6K!

No. The car has been apart for product development and won't be back to drivable for at least a few more weeks.

I'd be a squeaky wheel, reaching up above the dealership level, until Porsche produced some grease. Unfortunate automotive pun unintended.

Well that sucks. You were lucky. Hopefully the replacement part will not suffer similar issues. And hopefully my 2019 991.2 GTS will have that same replacement part from the factory.

Took my new T for a long drive today. Just over the 500 mile mark now. I decided to inspect underneath after reading this thread. Looks like I may be already getting a similar issue with my pump:

Thoughts?
