Yep, on most any new car with steel rotors and street pads. Pads will outgas the first time or two - rember E = m(V squared) - when initially used hard from high speed. This can cause brake fade. Find a vacant rural highway. A few hard brakings from near triple digit speeds as quickly as possible will take care of it. Even better down a Mountain.
At a track event, you can also do this, if aware. Be careful, or you might go off the end of a straight when braking hard and your pads outgas. Get some hard braking in early, well before the usual breaking zone at the end of the straight, and pull into the pits for a while for your brakes to cool. Do this several times and your pads should be ready for some hard lapping.

I follow this bed-in procedure when installing new pads and if they start to squeal over time (due to light, frequent braking during my daily commute).
