Default Commissioning a Fuchs-inspired wheel for the 991.2

Hello All,

First of all, I’d like to apologize in advance if this post doesn’t follow forum guidelines. I reached out to several mods weeks ago for guidance and received no response. So, here goes!

I’m working with a wheel manufacturer and wholesaler to produce a Fuchs-inspired wheel in a variety of fitments (including 5-lug and CL for the 991.2 GTS). Reason being, I actually wanted the 50th anniversary wheels on my GTS when I ordered it, but Porsche Exclusive couldn’t make it work.

Thus, I’m solving the problem with aftermarket wheels. The manufacturer gets a lot more motivated when they know multiple orders are in the pipeline, so the wholesaler is seeking other interested parties. Given the number of posts I’ve seen from folks asking about the 50th Anniversary wheels, I thought this group would be interested.

If you’d like more info, please PM me, and I’ll put you in contact with the wholesaler (I’m just a messenger and customer in this case). I’ll also add detail here as it becomes available.

Thanks!

The wheel that fits the TT and TTS is a Fuchs type. Have you looked into it for fitment.

I am interested but am already in the loop, lol. Really curious as to what they come up with (and price). LOVE the 50th anniversary wheels!

Nice job !

Yup. I’m very interested. I wanted to add the 50th wheels to my GTS, but the Centrelocks made it impossible. I assume they’ll work on a 991.1 ?

That’s exactly what we’re talking about. Those are the same wheel as the 50th Anniversary. With a different finish. They don’t come in a Centerlock, and changing over to 4 lug system with the ~ $7-8K for the 50th wheels was prohibitive.

I'm in the "know" as well here hahaha, yes they will fit factory Centerlock hardware just fine 😊 plan on ordering a set for an incoming Targa for myself 😎

Need to know a little more about pricing and pics, but I have CL on my GTS and looking for a new set to run winter tires on. Subscribed

Yep -- I haven't seen engineering mockups yet (they're working on them). Will happily post them here once I see them.

I would be curious as well, depending on the specifics of the design. What I don't like about the 50th anniversary wheels is that the spoke pedals extend into the polished rim face. On the original Fuchs design, the spokes stop completely short of the rim. That's what I'd like to see.

Other than CL (which we should see on the speedster, but will not be the same offset as GTS/turbo) the current Porsche Carrera Sport wheels are Fuchs inspired and are available for every 5 lug model. So really you would be making something that does not exist only for the CL GTS and Turbo.

I like the Porsche Carrera Sport but didn't find them as true to Fuchs as I would like. Maybe painting them two tone would do it for me.

Got it. I see it about the CL fitment. Those are my wheels and I have the 5 lug not CL. Good luck I love the wheels.

I have the same wheel and really like them. They are also a lot easier to clean.
