Totally agree, I never have understood why some folks want clear taillights on any car especially a 911 and IMO painted reflectors look really odd also.

I am not the original owner of my 991, so I didn’t have the opportunity choose clear vs. red tail lights. When I first purchased it with clear tail lights, I was planning to swap them for red tail lights. I installed clear front side markers first, and I never got around to changing the tail lights. I have to say that the clear tail lights have grown on me. I’m not planning to swap them at this time - I’m keeping the clears installed as the car came from the factory. I probably wouldn’t order clear tail lights on a brown car if I was the one placing the order. That said, I think they look great on white, silver or black cars.

Thanks for everyone's input, I like it when is not lit. I am also going to replace the badges to black color which will make it pop a little on a silver car.

I think i am going to keep it for a while, i can always go back to the red in about 10 mins :-)

Well if you like them that is all that matters. Enjoy!

Agreed on both aspects.

You should pick whichever ones you like but if it were me I would go with smoked tail lights. In regards to the rear reflectors, I am debating whether to get them painted in Miami Blue or Black; the latter may look better since it may appear that I am not covering them up that way. And yes, Bumper Plugs is the way to as opposed to a rattle can.

My S.B. GTS was ordered with them. I was unsure if I liked them at first, but have grown to love them. Added the LED clear side markers and I have a winner.

I think this sums up my problem with clear tail lights as well. On a dark car, they can serve to break up the theme which can be a good thing though.

Trying to fall in love with my clear tail lights but not quite getting there yet. Think maybe those slightly darker red ones that come on RS might look good?

I wish I were as adroit as you guys in posting pictures etc. My white cab has clear markers front and rear.

Hate clear tails on any color. Hate them worse (if that's at all possible) on white or silver.
