Abe
Don't worry, he's not a victim.
Atlanta dealer indicated they made it clear....although they didn't know how or when it would all play out.

Thanks man! I appreciate it.
I cannot wait to make a post next week when I'm down in Atlanta

I was so disturbed that I added 100 miles to the GT3 today and even got up to 9k once. Hehe.
Maybe I shouldn't post that....someone may take my warranty away posting such personal information here.

How is the GT3 vs 991.2GTS?
NA or Turbo and why?

I cannot imagine how the GT3 will sound with Akrapovic exhaust!!!

Original goal was to get a GT car last year....
Since I couldn't get a new GT car @ msrp, I got on the list for a GT3RS (992).
In order to get on the list and build a relationship in a new state at a new dealership (since I moved)...
I bought a '18 991.2 GTS since it's the only configurable allocation I could get immediately (last year).

My early comparison between '18 GT3 and '18 GTS (both 991.2)

Plus/delta of GT3
  • Much better sound when actually driving/revving the n/a motor (above 3-4k rpms)
  • Super quiet exhaust during startup and normal driving (wife loves this compared to GTS)
  • Higher horsepower that I can certainly feel
  • PDK-S feels a touch better
  • feels more planted when carving corners on backroads (may be due to Sport Cup 2's)
  • Overall, wife and I like the carbon bucket seats, although they are a touch more upright than I would prefer.
  • A pain to crawl/fall into bucket seat (I'm ok with it, wife not so much)
  • I get about 5x the thumbs up when driving, not sure it's a good thing or bad thing honestly.
  • Very damn difficult to put anything in rear of car behind seats since seats don't fold.
Plus/delta of GTS
  • I could blend into crowd better with far less people wanting to race or take pics
  • Marginally a more relaxed, less jarring ride
  • Torque was better at normal driving conditions (around town or cruising)
  • Over time, I grew to hate the 14-way seats (pinched my lat's) with little to no padding exactly where I needed it.
  • Much louder and better exhaust during start up and 'normal' driving
  • No wing which amplifies that beautiful 911 wide body rear end.
  • On occasion, I enjoyed the sunroof
  • Easy to fold the seats and put stuff in rear seats
All I can think of off the top of my head for now.

Thank you so much for your time to provide your feedback and experience.

My 991.2 GTS with LWB, RAS and PDK will be my first Porsche.

I drove for 5 days and 2.400 Kms through Porsche Drive Experience program in Stuttgart a 991.2 GTS and I am really impressed. Honestly I did not expect the car to be so perfect.

As highlights the car has unique wide personality. From normal to Sport+ is a totally different car.
It turns before my mind thinks about it.
It is fast. Extremely fast and Turbo torque is quite linear without significant lag.
It is very comfortable to drive it for 8-10 hours per day even in Swiss Alps and mountain passes.
Big advantage for me that is low profile car. Only people familiar with 911 car understand the car character and value.

In order to avoid damage your thread I will provide my feedback and experience In a different thread.

Enjoy your GT3 in a good health.

My next target a 2 day Porsche Driving School.

PS. Three weeks to receive my car...

What an odd situation. It is great to hear the dealer is ultimately squaring you up and honestly, I am not surprised. I have absolutely no ties/buddies at either dealer in Atlanta but I do know them both to have an honest desire to take care of their clients.

To me, the worst part is selling the car with the part on it, that is owned by and owed to you, without regard for you. It blows my mind how shortsighted that was. I mean...what did they believe the endgame to that would be?

It was very out of character for whichever had done it.

Agreed. Thx my friend. Greatly appreciate it.

There was a lot of learnings all around including: 1) Me, 2) Altanta and 3) Michigan 4) Any who has Porsche Car Connect and trades/sells

1) The big learning for me is the valve actuators are NOT MEANT to be swapped multiple times evidently.
Additionally, the valve actuators are not sold individually.
You have to buy the entire OEM Exhaust from Porsche to get the valve actuators.
Then you still have to remove the valve actuators, which could create future problems...

2) Atlanta may require aftermarket removals to be done prior to trade/sale

3) Michigan may not perform aftermarket exhaust work or....
Have in writing that they are not responsible for re-swaps since actuators are not meant to be re-used.

4) The process for removing Porsche Car Connect is NOT automatic.
I was actually surprised when I received alerts after my vehicle was traded and subsequently sold.
Finally when into my local dealer to add my GT3 and had to call and have them delete the old GTS from my account.

Even though this was all painful to all involved....
Everyone in this community should benefit by learning the challenges that occurred during this saga.
