I have been missing and regretting selling my 997.2 C4S a year and change ago. A month ago came by one of the local dealers to check a 2014 CPO S and next to it sat a beautiful 2014 CPO C4S. It had all I wanted: black, sport exhaust, sunroof. 5,000 miles on it. Was ready to put a deposit right away but car was spoken for. Another sales guy had agreed to save it for an old time customer.
Focused on the S but could not come to love it. Mostly pain beaten and interior felt .... abused. I had been looking for six months and could not forgive myself for not checking with my sales guy that week as I had done for months. How did I miss this one?!?!
Fast forward three weeks and I get a call from my sales person. A 2014 black 4S with 13,000 miles, manual, sport exhaust and sunroof is in on a trade. I have to say yes and they will put in in the back for 24 hours. Came by next day. Car looks very good and subject to CPO results I would take it. CPO went well and upon agreement on price and few things that were “pass” under CPO but I wanted I pulled the trigger.
Wife does not know yet as she is away on business travel. Will update tomorrow .... if I’m still alive.

My 991 acquisition story? Started 10 years ago test driving an Aston Vantage and thinking, “I like this car etc… but I should go a drive a 911”. One rip in the 997.1 C2S (Arctic Silver over Sea Blue with PCCBs) with that howling flat-6 right behind me and I was bitten. Two years later into a 2008 TT cab (Arctic Silver over Carrera Red), then swapped into a 2011 Boxster Spyder (Carrara White), added a 1998 993 C2S (Ocean Blue Metallic), then sold the Spyder and into a 2014 981 base Cayman (Agate Gray over Agate Grey / Orange), then back into a 2nd 2011 Spyder (Silver over Red), and sold the 993 (yeah, yeah, yeah…) and just ordered a new 991.2 Carrara T in Guards Red over basic Black, PCCB's and 4WSS+, that’s on the boat as I write. So looking forward to driving this T and getting to know it’s nuances and special things. All reports look good. Which of the others do I regret selling? All of them. Yep. Nutty for sure. But when you own your own business you get a certain amount of freedom that is fun to enjoy. I’ll keep you all posted on when I actually get the keys to the red “unfiltered truth”.
