Was loading 150 pounds of bird seed into the frunk in the Agway parking lot. Guy walks over and says nice car. Doesn’t see an engine so asks if this is one of those electric cars. Had to explain the engine is in back and had been designed that way more than 50 years ago. He didn’t say anything else.

Normally get admiring longing looks, especially by guys in M-BMW’s and Miata’s. Occasional guys in Mustangs and Chargers wanting to race me on the freeway (not), disapproving looks by Bernie Sanders’s supporters in sensible proletariat cars who convey the “you know how many people you could feed or medical insurance buy for the price of that thing” looks. Did have a guy once driving down a country highway the opposite direction in a beat up pickup lean out the window and give me the finger with a a hostile I hate you look.

I agree with some of Sanders ideas, and I own a 991.1 GTS. It’s loud AF and spews poisons into the air. Delicious. Generalizations are a real time saver eh ?

I’m shocked. Perhaps he understood that “proletariat” refers to Marxism, not Democratic socialism. The people who built our cars use the same system of government. The word originated with the lower, working classes of Rome. They would have driven pickup trucks too.

I was out and about with the 911 on Saturday, and was on my way home around 11:30 PM when a lifted F250 pulls up next to me. I look over and the driver is signaling for me to roll down my window. He yells to me "He man, your car is rowdy as f**k!! The pops it makes when you shift sound insane!" I say thanks, we chat for a few seconds, and he then asks if I can "let it rip" when the light changes so he can film it to show his friends. Being the great fellow that I am, I oblige and put the hammer down when the light changes. We get to the next light and the dude is bouncing up and down in his seat with excitement. He shouts out "so f**king sick dude!! I love it! Some day I will own one, mark my words!!"

I got a ridiculous amount of attention in both of my S2000's and even my Z4M Coupe - but I hardly get any in the 911 for whatever reason. Maybe I'm just a cold bastard that doesn't pay attention to other drivers anymore

Forget 0-60, I had an R8 V10 with a Fabspeed exhaust (until I ordered another 911) and I used to keep track of how far I got from my house before someone took a picture That sort of attention is fun for a while, until it just isn't. Was lucky and didn't run into any bad actors, but know others who have.

Was stopped at a light and was going to turn left. Happened to look over at the car next to me which was an SUV and going straight. A rather hot chick about half my age looked over and mouthed ‘nice car’. I gave her a thumbs up, she did the same, and then we went our separate way. Made me wish I was half my age.

Indeed, post #1 is straight from an adult film, and post #17 is the finale from Easy Rider. This is why I got my 911 with an inconspicuous color and I don't let my wife order pizza delivery.

#17 was the reaction to a white car 😳 don’t know how you get more inconspicuous. Maybe turn off DRL’s. Think said individual had issues beyond not liking 911’s

Are you kiddin me?

My previous Cab (Agate with black top and interior) was parked in my driveway while the roofs were being replaced on the townhomes in our condo complex. Being in the middle of Pennsylvania, many of the construction workers in our area are Amish. When I headed out to get in my car, a teenaged Amish kid tells me my car is really cool and asks if he can take a picture. Of course I say yes, and he pulls out his cell phone and takes a few shots. Just when you think taking a picture with a cell phone is contrary to everything you've ever learned about the Amish, he proceeds to tell me that he's really into cars and he's going to post the picture on his Facebook page.

You guys do well.. I get roughly one "slow down" shout-out per compliment, on average. And not many of either frankly (and no, I don't need to slow down, generally I get those shoutouts at ridiculously low speeds - other thread)... Occasionally I get a "that's sexy". Funniest was a garbage guy seriously calling me out for not being able to afford a Turbo ! While pickup up a garbage can, that guy redefines humor !!!

If you want thumbs up, try my 1973 BMW 2002 in bright orange... Now that's a joy spreader !
