I just noticed that under my name it said "User", but don't recall getting a renewal notice from Rennlist. Maybe it went to a spam folder?
Anyway, I renewed it and encourage all other users to cough up the $17.95 annual dues. We all get a lot of valuable information and camaraderie from this forum and it's a small price to pay to keep the servers running.

Don't you wonder where the money goes though? Not back to the contributors of the knowledge for sure.

This site, which used to be individually and enthusiast owned was sold to Internet Brands some time ago. The members provide the content and Internet Brands gets plenty of money for Sponsorship from commercial members, and Google ads for this site. Getting the content providers (that's you) to pay for a membership is just icing on the cake. I know, as I run a site similar to this. It costs about $ 600 a year to operate, that's it.....
Note that I don't have a membership because I am a content provider - they should be paying ME.

I pay the fee and have done so for over 5 years. Evidently however, I'd get the same information for free. That's troublesome.
The information here has potentially saved me thousands of dollars and I am very grateful for that.

Membership gives you some access to forum you don't have for free. Nothing huge though. Members can only post stuff for sale though.
Too bad moderators are volunteers and don't get paid.
Agree with other comments, the content that users provide MAKE or BREAK the forum. The company that owns the forums must laugh that people actually cough up memberships. Not sure how big of a revenue source that is and how much they depend on it? I'd assume selling ads and forum vendor sponsorships make up most of it.
I pay for the few perks and I'm fine with it. It's a great forum.

It's $17.95, almost the price of a Starbuck's coffee - lol. That is worth the price for me just to reduce the number of advertisements.
