OP - you have chosen wisely. An NA engine simply cannot be matched or replicated in linear acceleration or intake sound bytes. Congratulations.

Very nice car. Now put the clear front cornering lights on it and it will be even nicer. I have a somewhat similar 991.1 and absolutely love it.

Was all set to stick with BMW's 5 Series line, currently DD a 2016 550 M-Sport and had an allocation for a 2019 M5 Competition Pack. Then I did a mixed BMW/Porsche track day this past spring and was completely taken by how much fun the Porsche lineup is. I had to explore this further before committing to the investment in a new M5, which is inching close in price to the C4S when fully equipped.

I drove several new 991.2s: Carrera T, Carrera S, and a Turbo (came sooo close on that one). Tried to drive a 911 Targa GTS, but that got sold before I could sit in it. And there have been a few build opportunities along the way for a GTS, Targa GTS, and a couple of TurboS cars from my local collection of dealers. All were great drives. However it was beginning to seem like waiting for something in the upcoming 992s might be my smarter play. But a good friend who has a C4S, strongly suggested I give the C4S a look, before I wait another 14-18 months to grab a 992.

Located a beautiful new triple black 2018 911 C4S. While looking that one over, the PA pointed out he just received this nicely equipped mint 991.1 Carrera 4S, CPO, no major revs on the scan, never tracked, and a perfect combination of Silver and Black. So just after lunchtime we took it out onto I94 in Chicago...Oh the howl of that NA Sport Exhaust, the way it builds torque, the tightness...its was so intoxicating. It may have been an epiphany (but I couldn't tell the PA that). I hadn't really considered a CPO until that drive, and so damn glad I had the perfect PA who knew exactly when to add comments, and when to just hang on for the ride. I've had a little track time and training, though I know there are many others with much more knowledge on the handling and drive characteristics, but we had a little fun none the less.

Test drive these cars...there is an awakening to be found if your not sure. And you will know when the right one comes along. Forget the madness of trying to time a new model release, depreciation, blah blah blah..your totally missing the point.

Its in the garage now. Drove it on Friday July 6th...took it home Monday July 9th. Just finished my first detail (I'm a hobbyist) and the photos are from that.

Could not be happier with my PA, Tony Taylor at Loeber Porsche. Give him a chance if your in the Chicagoland area.

Nice ride!! If u live close to loeber we are practically neighbors .. we should go cruise the 911s after the rain stops next week

So true! To me it is the feeling of being totally connected to the car.

OP, awesome build. You did well. Enjoy in good health.

Thanks Rennolazine .. Sounds like fun. I need to join this and then I'll send a PM.

Going to do a track day at AutoBahn Sunday. Buddy of mine has a 911.2 C4S from Napelton and they hold these for their clients every year. He invited me so I'll get some time in his 911 this weekend. Always a good time on the track.

On one of your videos I saw you were driving I-94 through Gurnee. Was on that road heading south a few days ago and blew past a trouper just before the toll booth. I got lucky as he was out of position and had to travel a 1/4 mile up the highway to turn around. Gave me just enough time to get off the highway by the mall. Be careful in that area.

Gorgeous, congrats! The N/A boxer 6 packaged in a 991 chassis is a truly intoxicating experience indeed. You picked very well and digging all the painted plastic bits.

Porsche Ambassador .. I guess Porsche Brand Ambassador (PBA) may be more accurate but this product is acronym heavy. I know, just say sales.

Looks great. I kind of want the side skirts now, thanks for that.

I know what you mean with the 18 month search. I was learning all the options (and Porsche has a lot of them!) a little bit every night for probably 9 months.
The right CPO came along (2014 C2S, in your color!) and I have been so happy with things over the past 6 months. Still learning more and more about this great decision almost daily.

Congrats!

My story is similar. Started w e39 6spd sport, just traded in f80 M3 and picked up 991.1 2s Cab. Sport exhaust is awesome and love Sport Design package!
This car is simply amazing!
