The rear ALP sensors are really limited to where they can be placed due to the space provided by Porsche for the rear license plate. If you notice, the top of the bumper opening is more narrow than the bottom, see attached pic. Pink Dots are where top of plate should place sensors but, its too narrow to fit a plate and 2 sensors. So, in order to get them wider, JK actually mounts the plate slightly lower in the space to allow max distance between the sensors, about where yellow dots are.
The plate is designed to be angled and sensors are completely straight when mounted. No channeling of the bumper is necessary, the entire mount just screws in and screws off and when removed you would essentially never know it was mounted there

you have any pictures of the rear of the car that show where the sensors are located near the license plate? Mine are just next to the license plate and are slanted slightly.
The two upper corners of the license plate holder, as mentioned above. I do remember discussing this w Jeremy but basically given 911 rear layout, there's really not too many options that'd look passable.
Also, don't lose sleep over a rear hit, it's quite a rare occurrence.

Yeah that's for sure - you never know.
A good shooter could probably breach this setup on the rear but keep in mind the car is moving away from him, so 1) he needs to quickly keep shooting towards other areas of the car before it disappears to get a reading 2) if the initial shot is towards the center of the car where the most reflective flat area (license plate) is, which I think would be the most common initial choice, you'd pick up on that and would slow down. No point in me speculating more but I do think they must find targeting an approaching car much easier hence the frequency of that vs the rear targets. Like you I'm at zero rear hits vs numerous front hits and I think we drive around in similar areas.
