Default extended warranty after CPO- price check

Anyone got an extended warranty after CPO recently?

I have a couple more years to go but want to check and see what are the recent pricing on a 5-6 year ext warranty after CPO.

PS I know a lot of folks think ext warranty is a waste of money, or that i should just put away $5k for warranty....but I enjoy the peace of mind not having to worry about footing the bill for a new PDK one day :-)

I've seen on other threads this is the most popular. Maybe just buy Powertrain warranty.

Folks may or may not realize, that (at least fidelity) warranties are pro rata refundable if you don't transfer it to a new owner if you sell the car.

I'm responding to the "best price around" part. I live in Florida so what I learned applies to Florida. Perhaps other states have similar laws. Anyway in Florida there is no best price around. Warranties with the same features must be the same price. So a warranty in Florida from any vendor that is cheaper doesn't cover as much. I learned this shopping for an extended warranty for my wife's BMW.

I should have stated that I was merely just passing this along since someone checked all sources and said that he could offer the best prices. I checked a few and compared to others he beat the other prices, even in Florida.

That is 100% not true. I had a 2007 911 and I bought a 48 month Fidelity/Audi Platinum warranty from the dealer where I bought the car in October 2015, and the car was NOT CPO.

Also I see a lot of people quoting they got a 4, 5, or 6 year etc .... it would be great if people made it clear that the warranty they bought was a 6 year EXTENSION or 6 years from the date the car was first purchased new.

I have a 2015 GTS Cab w/ 9900 miles, and the dealer has had it in the shop for a full month....for a simple repair. I told them I was going to slam them pretty hard about it and suggested they sell me a warranty at cost. Supposedly cost on a 8 year 80,000 mile (from the date the car was new) Fidelity Platinum warranty with a $250 deductable is $3178.

My 997 cab had one repair in 30 months that was covered and it saved me $800. Then I traded it in and found out there was a seal repair that was going to be $1600. I would not buy a warranty ever on anything except maybe a Porsche. They do break.

!!! CORRECTION !!!

I got the warranty documents today. It appears that when you buy a Fidelity warranty the period is not from the date the car was first registered. It's the contract date. So my car is a 2015 911 GTS Cab, with 9800 miles. It has 8 months of factory warranty left. I bought an 8 year 80k mile Platinum warranty with $100 deductible that will expire September 2026 for $2878 which is supposed to be dealer cost. For me it's a no-brainer. The car will be over 11 years old then.

That's a great price, I hope to get close to that. The CPO expires on my '13 C2S next month.

I was told that Porsche can sell extended warranty through Porsche dealer with coverage up to 6 years as long as the car is not more than 6 years old, even without CPO warranty qualifies and the lower the mileage of the vehicle at the time of the warranty purchase the better the price - I got a $5100 quote from Porsche of the Mainline on my 2015 Turbo when it had only 11K miles on it and the manufacturer warranty had just run out

I believe you have to be under the actual factory warranty in order to get Fidelity. CPO will not qualify as I understand it.
