Is this 911 that crash?

Journalism is long dead in this country, but the driver had to be driving at a very high rate of speed for that wreckage to result. Very sad for all involved.

I am just curious what model he was driving. The wheels looks like 911.

Maybe some sort of substance abuse? 150 mph down an exit ramp with a turn in the trees is just not normal in my realm of thinking. .

For anyone that’s ever wound their cars up to that speed, it plays weird games with your mind. With these cars so firmly planted to the road, the sensation of motion is greatly decreased, and it doesn’t hit the brain that you’re going anywhere near “that fast”. It’s only as you decelerate that the true sensation hits you. That has been my experience, at least.
No one will know for sure the true details of the what and why, but it is certainly a tragedy for all affected.

Lots of mis-information. Sorta like fake news. First reported as being hit by a semi. False. Next to a semi that witnessed him suddenly accelerate. First reported as on I-40 going onto Wade Ave. False. On Wade Ave at I-40. Guy lives close by. No reason to get on 40. A witness said it looked like he was doing 150 mph so the news used that figure. No one knows how fast as there were no skid marks. Will know once the info is downloaded from the computer. Man was a doctor and a member of the Hurricane Region, PCA. Wife said that he had previous medical problems and might have suffered a seizure or heart attack. He will be sadly missed by our region.

Yikes, that is terrible...
Did you read Homeles' response? A medical issue seems more likely than a joy ride gone wrong.

Wanted to say thanks to Homeles' for his post.
I'm really disappointed with the local press. They're using the cost of the car and the supposed speed to sensationalize the story. To the point where his wife did a camera interview to explain that her husband would not have done anything like that to endanger the public.
Shame on the press for that.

The press loves to sensationalize an event like this. Very sad indeed for the family. The speed had to be significant though to take the car apart like that. We will never find out what really happened possibly.

I am going to add a bit of fact to clarify some fiction.
The owner of this car was a well respected physician, loving father, and devoted husband.
Furthermore, he was a Porsche enthusiast to the extent that he attended the Porsche Sport Driving school.
He is also believed to have had a medical emergency that lead to this unfortunate event.
