Maybe it's not assholery but self preservation. By doing that he KNOWS the porsche guy will not ding his door, and he's got mega clearance on the other side ;-)
Meh, kidding... I agree. happens to me all the time... It's like the car is a magnet.
excuse me! how would you know what i'm willing to do? i absolutely would have. you let people get away with **** like that (which appeared intentional) and they keep doing it, call them on it and they won't do it again. i go to my gym 7 days a week and i would have confronted that person simply on principle. clearly, you wouldn't.

wonder if it would be worth it, as after you get the yelling done, next day to go to the gym you find a nice big scratch on your beautiful Porsche when you go to drive home

This is ridiculous. Get away with what? Parking in a designated spot within the lines? And what would you tell them?
No one works out 7 days a week. Why do you? Or are you exaggerating again?

probably half the people at my gym go 7 days a week. why would i exaggerate? it's not a big deal to go to the gym every day.
if you guys wouldn't say anything to something like that, that's fine. personally, based on that picture, i find that over the line. he said he could barely open his driver's door. it looked quite intentional.
How is it that "standing up for yourself" is defined by confronting and scolding a person for parking next to your car?
first of all, i didn't bitch about the parking issue to begin with. the OP did. look at the photo below - in an entirely empty parking lot, someone parks so close to your car that you pretty much can't open your own door and you're not going to say something?
again, we all do things differently. that was not simply someone 'parking next to your car', imo. that person is a douche.
This happens to me all the time as well. I used to take my GTS to work but stopped doing it for this reason, luckily no dings yet on my car. Now weekend parking only...and on rare Monday Blue days
