This is another weird issue...up there with the broken reverse lights switch requiring a new transmission!
Somebody start a "weird Porsche problems" thread and pray it doesn't fill up to the point where ownership becomes the weird part.

Would be very interested in knowing just what "fell-down" inside the tank. What you've circled doesn't appear to be the fuel pump -- that is the white "thing" to the left in that picture sitting on the bottom. Did the Techs replacing your tank tell you what the part was? It is not clear in PET diagrams just what that dark object is in the cut-away photo. There isn't much inside the tank to begin with but some tubing, the pump, level gauge, and a filter?

I got my car back on Thursday; they handed me the key and told me that it was the lower of the two valves that was blocked and prevented gas from flowing into the tank. Nothing to sign, and of course no invoice. I’m so happy to have the car back after three full weeks since the problem appeared.
However, now Connect doesn’t work; my phone connects to the PCC server, but the server doesn’t manage to establish a connection with the car. They told me they had noticed an error message and that they had done something. Well, I don’t know which message they saw nor what they did, but it was working before, and now it doesn’t...

Keep us posted as to the resolution. This clearly is an uncommon issue, but good to know if there are specific points of failure.
