If your warranty is out. I would fight like hell to have Porsche take care of this as a goodwill fix. This should never happen.

This is where it pays to have service work done at the dealer, the goodwill is real. I hope for you this works out.

Well i cant have warranty as my car is modded... So when you do so, they redirects all problems to the mods.. Which is no as we all know.
Anyway it will cost me much time which will lead to work production loss which will lead to reduced income if i start fight them..
Tomorrow i am buying new gas tank and i hope it will fit! So fingers crossed!

Wow. Bizarre story. I had no idea there was all that stuff IN the gas tank. Looks like a fish tank filtration system or something....

in the US, cars have 8 years warranty on emission related parts and problems.

Wow that is great! I am not sure about EU..
Basically no one tell you this when you are at service, you need to find all things by your own.. Sometime you know more then official dealer.

I had the same symptoms on my 991.2 GTS Cab yesterday at the race track in Hockenheim while going through a program leading to obtaining the racing license; a real shame to miss the final afternoon of the two-day event due to the car not taking any gas. Argh! The Porsche center in Mannheim tried to unblock it, to no avail, and the car will have to be flat-bedded back home, some 500 km away.

Update

It seems that my 991.2 has the same issue as the OP; the fuel tank has to be replaced. Another sunny but 911-less weekend ahead for me.

Let's hope you can get it covered under warranty! Man, this is a weird problem that I have never heard of, and I hope I don't hear about it too often at that.
