2013 C2S Purchase and Drive Home
This is a follow up to the thread I started a few weeks ago in reference to a 911 C2S that I was interested in. https://rennlist.com/forums/991/1073716-cpo-2013-c2s-6800-miles-2-owners-opinions-please.html
Thanks to the incredibly helpful Rennlisters like STG for his knowledge of the market and minthral for his negotiation tactics. Also the collective knowledge of all the members of Rennlist was extremely valuable.
I took a bus to Boston last Friday night and stayed overnight. Then I flew to NY Laguardia Saturday morning at 8 am arriving in NY at 920am. From there I took a $60 Uber to the dealership in Freeport NY.
I highly recommend TSA Pre Check. It has saved me a number of times although not today since I was at the airport at 7 am
Embrarer 190. Very nice plane. Great take off power.
In flight reviewing my notes about the car.
New York City in the distance.
South Shore Porsche. It is a very nice dealership with a Carrera GT inside. I forgot to take a pic of it.
I got to the dealership at about 1030 am. I was a little early for my 1100 appointment. They were detailing the car prior to delivery. The car is like new. Not a single ding on the side panels. No rash on the wheels. There was one tiny chip on the hood and a few on the front bumper. The drivers seat had one skuff and a little dirt which I will take care of. Otherwise It looks brand new. It has 7000 miles on the clock.
Here is a view of the car in the lot after a test drive.Sorry about the upward deployed spoiler. I did that because it was 91 degrees and I did not want to overheat the engine. LOL I am sure it doesn't matter.
The test drive went well. The roads were pretty rough on Long Island. The traffic was not too bad during the test drive.
These guys were tough negotiators. I was able to get a new 2 year CPO which was nice.
Then the glorious drive home. Making stops at McDonlads just outside Lon and Reins Deli in Mt Vernon CT
Stop at Mickey D's for a milk shake and quick burger for fuel to make the 2.5 hour drive to Reins Deli.
Reins Deli for a Pastrami sandwich and a Coke. 2 great pleasures in life that go well with a long drive in an amazing car.
Love the interior. The air conditioned seats are great.
Finally home after 5 hours and about 300 miles of driving.
I must say that this 991 is much more refined than my 997. The ride is smoother and quieter. The gear box and clutch are so tight and precise. The power and sound with the PSE are amazing.
I am very excited to have such a nice car.
Thanks again to all. This is a great forum.

Congrats once again. Really nice when buyers post these follow up stories. Nice buys are out there. A 2013 Manual with SC and PSE and 7K miles with CPO isn't an easy find!! The car looks brand new.

Congrats, great looking car, the white looks nice with the windows already tinted. Glad to see a fellow MT purchase, we are becoming a rare breed, sad but true. Thanks for the pics and the story, now go drive the wheels off that gorgeous 911!

Congrats! I did a West Coast similar story with an 800 mile trip home. I took the scenic route through 4 states over 2 days and enjoyed every minute in the seat. Your car is beautiful and I'm sure it's going to deliver MANY hours of enjoyment

Same color combo that I picked mine up with! mine had about 9700 miles on it when I had it so very similar condition as well. Hopefully you can do something with that front plate bracket. I moved from NY to PA and definitely don't miss the front plate tickets I would get because I never put one on haha

I also need to figure out how to wash the car without producing swirls. I am going to look into the 2 bucket method.
