Over rev
I ran a diagnostic eval on my new to me 2012.5 991 CS. Found a few faults of no concern, but did see an ( 1 ) over rev " Over rev range 1: 95/8380.32 h " . Should I be concerned ? How is an over rev even possible these day's with all the built in safe guards " rev limiters" ??

Range 1 over rev? and only one incident? I wouldn't worry about it. Porsche will still CPO cars with that report.
Is this is a PDK? If so, it was probably a glitch or misread as I am unclear how one can over rev a PDK tranny.

No concern at all if you visit range 1 or 2. If >3, Porsche can supposedly deny warranty. You don't mention if you have a PDK or MT, but if you bounce off the rev limiter on an upshift it's a range 1 over-rev. I got carried away the other day and hit fuel cut off in 1st. The higher range over revs are caused by a missed downshift (ie 4 to 1) where the engine is physically connected to the wheels so fuel/ignition cut off does nothing to reduce engine speed. Quick clutch foot and a prayer is the only solution in those situations.

The way I read this, is you have 95 over-revs in range #1 with the last recorded event at operating hour 8,380. Normal. No issue. And proof positive a PDK can be over -reved. No surprise there either.
