HOLY COW My Michelin Super Sports Are Noisy!!!!

Lex - amazing mileage! My OEM Pirellis gave up the spirit around 11k miles. Docile Street driving..
The PS4S are significantly quieter but I'm only on the first 2k miles. I'm sure that will change over time, as it should.
As for handling, having done few hot laps with my car at Palmer this past weekend, I'm a huge fan. I threw everything I could at the car and it didn't even flinch, street pressure and all...

Three Wheelin'
Seems to me the OP is not complaining about tire wear, but rather road noise. My 997 is not a Cab, but a coupe and I also notice road noise. Given that our 911s are not luxury sedans, it will inevitably transmit road noise, and depending on the kind of surface pavings, some roads might look perfectly smooth and yet make our cars noisy and yet some pavings that looks rough will appear quiet. Whenever I encounter these road noise, I just crank up the stereo to cover it.

Just got back from Porsche Parade. Did just under 1,500 miles this week. Rear tires now have 22,102 miles on them. Time to replace. This is the passanger side rear tire. Driver's side is not corded. I got my money's worth.

That's great wear for rear tires. My original rear OEM Michelin's only got me 16km,
I noticed by changing to MPSS they produce more road noise than the OEM Michelin's. And they really get noisy when they get down to the metal

Lex, I would never take a road trip and return with cords showing, even or especially on the rear where the weight is. Not worth the “getting your money’s worth” imho. Even Michelin advertises “you have a lot riding on your tires”! To each is his own.

i am probably one of the poorest 911 owners here thanks to my x-wife who collects 40% of my paycheck but I would NEVER drive on tires in this condition. It is too risky and not worth the savings of a few bucks (no offense intented)

Pushing the limits on the tires, you sir are braver than me.
