991.1 C2S Oil Pressure
What’s the normal oil pressure when cold and at operating temps at idle. Used to seeing the oil pressure pegged at 5 bar in my 997 and about 1.5-ish bar at 200F at idle. The 9A1 seems way different. I would assume it’s running Mobil 1 0W-40 at the moment. When I get the major done this Wednesday I’ll be switching to Motul 5W-40, so that will have a little affect.
Thanks....just learning.

Why would you have 72.5 PSI in your 997 at idle? That's nuts.
Our cars see that pressure at high revs and full throttle.
75-80 mph and about 2,400 rpm (7th gear) our oil pressure is about 32 on a flat road.
I'll have to look at the hot and cold idle.

Mobil 5W50
Very fresh....about 1,000 miles
Oil at about 110 right now
Hot in the garage, about 85
Idle about 850 rpm
Oil pressure is 25 psi

That pretty well fits what I’m getting.
The 997 is always pegged at 5 bar when cold....it comes down as the oil heats up. When at 200F at 75 mph in 6th gear it’s about 3.5 bar. It will climb with higher revs or drop with lower. Always been that way since day 1.
Thanks for the data point!

I assume that I run Mobil 1 0W-40, as the dealer does my annual oil changes and think that this is the Porsche spec. Normally running in Sport Mode, oil temperature reaches around 200 in normal driving in my 991.2S and was the same in my previous base 991.1. At this temperature, idle oil pressure at around 850 rpm is (was) around 20 psi in both cars from day one.

More data points:
Cold start
Oil at 78
High idle (1,100-1,200)
Oil pressure quickly climps to 30 psi
Once high idle kicks off and rpms settle at 650 the oil pressure drops to 25 psi
Hot oil
Oil at 180
Idle about 650 again (AC off and normal mode) oil pressures settles at 22 psi
I'll grab one more data point later today when the oil is over 200
