What does it take for 991.2 GTS to Match GT3

The driver is the key ingredient in fact - the car with the best driver will cut the fastest time. It is that simple (assuming the same tires and rear axle steering). The GT3 carries marginally more corner speed and starts to edge away on long straights - the GTS punches much harder out of corners.
The GT3 has greater track emphasis by design e.g. metal joints instead of rubber bushings, rear axle steering with more movement, more focussed suspension (damping, spring rates, adjustable sway bars), good aero (adjustable) that delivers real down force and no lift, bigger brakes that take more heat and punishment.
The GTS has greater road emphasis by design e.g. massive torque curve and more compliant suspension set up and good brakes (from the Turbo as is the gear set to handle the torque).
I wouldn't "mod" a GTS to "beat" a GT3 - If I wanted a more track focussed car I would've simply bought a GT3
comment on tires: The Corsa on the GTS is a new tire and compound Trofeo R > Corsa (N spec) > P Zero (N spec). Its broadly the equivalent of the MPSC2 N1.

I had a C4S and now 991.2 GT3. I don’t know why you think they’re all the same, these cars are not very close at all.
Also the 991.2 GT3 is faster than 991.1 GT3RS. 7 minutes 12 seconds around Nurburgring. 8 seconds is a lot.

Mod the car for more power on straight lines or drags all you want. Of course you’ll be faster in that regard. You’re effectively making a 911 Turbo on a budget when you do that.
for anyone that drives on the track, NA is appreciated. As someone else said, the GT3 was designed to be driven on the track consistently with components that are beefed up to handle track abuse, stay reliable, and maintain a warranty if kept stock.
I think you can definitely mod your car to beat GT3 though. At what cost? Will you have warranty? Why not just have a GT3 with higher resale vs a modded out car with no warranty and diminished value due to the mods? Or if brutal power is your thing go 911 turbo for the same reasons.

If you want the GT3 experience, get a GT3.
If you want to beat a GT3 ( at least a 991.1 or 991.2 RS) get a C7Z06 ( can I say that here ).
If you add better tires and a tune ( 911 turbo on a budget) you will probably match most GT3's on track.
( others upgrades would be brakes and maybe some aero).
I run fairly well against GT3's on track using my street tires ( non-cup2), better than some ( driver skill?)
and worst than others (they run hoosiers and other excuses).

So guys you will be surprised how many people try to spec their GTS as close to a GT3 as they can't buy a GT3 at list price
I am collecting next week my gen2 Carrera 4 GTS with a GT3 like spec
It has Sports Bucket seats
Rear wheel steer
PDCC with 20mm suspension drop
Ceramic brakes
No sunroof
I also have a friend with a gen2 GT3
Game on

I owned a 991.2GTS PDK coupe last year before changinh for my current 991.2GT3 PDK, and i tracked both last year on the same day...RWS is an absolute must have on the GTS to even come close to the GT3 as is PDK..My ideal spec for a GTS is coupe, PDK,sans suroof but with bucked seats and PCCBs.
Two major letdowns for a GTS for track work are the standard steel brakes and the Pirelli P Zeros..I burnt through both brakes and tyres last year in no time at all. I would get an ecu tune along with my ideal spec which will make it way faster than any GT3..

I have a .2 4GTS and I ride with a bunch of GT-3 guys at the local track. most run Cup 2s.
Most of us being the amateur enthusiast level, at this level, I find GTS can hold its own on the corners with the GT-3. Can it go quicker? possible, but will take greater effort than a GT-3 can with good driving.
on the straights, GT-3 pulls. horse power is horse power afterall.
If one can chip a GTS to match GT-3 horsepower, and has driver skill through the corners, I believe one can have good fun riding against the GT-3s, but while I love my GTS, at the track, i have to be honest that GT-3s look and are much more planted.
