I switched to motul over a 1.5 years ago and never looked back. Superior quality and I never lose a drop!

Same here on last two changes. Interval is about 5K and the car burns not a drop. Removed 8L and replaced with 8L of Motul. Two marks from top after warming up and running around. 2014 991.1 C2S

you probably mean quarts, not gallons?

I see this is an old thread but I'll just throw in my 2 cents to say that I've done 4 oil changes on my 991.2 C2S and average around 9.3 quarts per fill. I've had the car almost since new. I've used Mobil 1 FS 5W50 on the last couple of changes. I back my car onto 3" race ramps giving it a slight incline toward the front of the vehicle which I do believe aids in getting the most oil out of the pan. I'm also not typically in a rush and allow as much as a few hours time to drain which I don't believe is necessary but when I return, there's always oil still dripping out of the pan albeit slowly. This could easily account for a good few hundred MLs of fluid vs just letting it drain for 30 minutes or so. Also worth noting that quarts are slightly more than liters (9.3 qts = 8.8 liters).

I do similarly to Tier1Terrier on my 2017 C2S, except that I raise my car using a floor jack and slide a 6" HD ramp under the rear wheel on each side before proceeding with draining the engine oil. I leave the front wheels on the garage floor. The floor is level. I use an old cardboard box as a support for the oil catch pan which is also a container for storage and transport of the old oil. I loosen the oil filler cap and the oil filter housing and let the oil drain at least a half hour while doing other maintenance items. I measure the amount of oil that is drained out using empty 5-quart jugs that were originally filled with motor oil. I have yet to observe any leakage onto the surrounding engine or dripping from loosening the oil filter housing to facilitate drainage into the sump, but still stuff some paper towels around it just in case... .

I, too, have consistently drained more than 9 quarts, and almost exactly what Tier1Terrier has observed.

Same here. In the past, I measured what drained and refilled the amount drained. Usually 8.5 quarts. There is no measurable oil lost or burned between drain and refill

In the past I drained at 5k intervals. As I am retired and no longer commute I change the oil yearly usually 3k or so per year.

I change my oil every 3,000 - 3,500 miles, I let the oil drain for more than 30 minutes until there's barely a drop coming out. I also soak up all the oil left in the filter housing. I always end up putting back in 9.25 quarts of Mobil-one 5-40. These 9A-1 engines actually take 10.5 liters (yes, Liters!) of oil when completely dry (that's in the Porsche Workshop Manual,) so I just feel like we're getting more old oil out. I don't consume much oil - I lose 1 hack line between changes, from 3/4 to 1/2, which is less than half a quart over those 3k miles. Car has over 109k miles right now and I drive her pretty hard.

If the oil is properly drained, 8.9 to 9.1 on the 4S. The 2015 has a few more measurement lines on the gauge than later cars and I like it one from the top. Most dealers will fill to just below that line. At almost 90K miles, and “driven”, it burns NO oil.
