The key fob or the entry and drive switch? The switch can be swapped out by you in about 2 minutes. There are lot of options on suncoastparts.com. Replacing the key fob will need to be done by the dealer for probably an hour of labor, even thought it will take them a couple of minutes, on top of the price of the key fob.

I lost one of the Keys and want to replace it. So I was wondering whats involved and possible cheaper alternatives. A new key and reprogramming at dealer is expensive.

I have entry and drive as well. I had the car (2016 991.1) about 9 months when my Key Fob started telling the car to sound its alarm, while driving. It was replaced under warranty. They had to order the new key from Stuttgart which took about 2 weeks. I was in the shop about 2 hours and service dept told me it would have been about $550 if I had to paid for it.

that's what i'm trying to avoid, I would like to see if there's a way to get an aftermarket key and was also wondering if there's a way to program it without going to the dealer

$339 Key
$159 Programming Labor
$26 Porsche Key Chain
$12 Fake Carbon Fiber Key Sides

Dont ask me how I know. Go see the dealer. It’s best to just suck it up and get the pain over with.

No, there is not. Don't buy a key off EBAY and don't get one from Suncoast as you will find when you walk it into your local dealer for programming they will decline to do it unless you purchased it from them. If you have a dealer that WILL agree, it will be the first one I've seen do it.

And if you are down to one key, don't lose it or you will be flatbedding your car to the dealer.
