Still no definitive answers on what offsets would be ideal for performance and cosmetics on GTS..

Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 16mm further away from the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 16mm more than before.

Ok The front is 4mm closer. Thats an easy fix with my elephant racing adjustable control arms. Just wind it out half an inch and fill the front guards. Or to what looks best. Even just the 4mm to bring it back to stock.

The rear, is like having 16mm spacers, that would be cool. But again I have adjustable rear wishbone, that can bring in back in slightly if necessary or out further.

But the diagrams will give you a good idea.

4 point 0: The real question is how the cars handling and braking will be affected by changing the offsets.

Like a lot of guys, I would love bigger wheels or wheels that aren't so tucked in, but at what expense will we sacrifice aesthetics for performance?

Increasing the Track width will result in better handling. If in doubt, follow what they did with GT3 and GT3 RS. If you copy their track width, you know its an improvement in handling.

I would like BBS FI-R. But I want 20 x 9.5 upfront. That should be doable by getting one for an RS. But the rear, I don't really want 21 inch. But I do want 12.5. So a 20 x 12.5 would be good.

I know R101 or P101 from HRE can do any size and offset, but I don't like them as much as BBS FI-R.

BBS FIR front offset is +52, rear is +44. As I know is fixed and not possible to change.

Also HRE R101 LW has fixed offset +44 front and +47 rear.
It's possible to change the offset in P101.
To me going for aftermarket wheels should target weight reduction.

I am arguing if I need to "invest" of lightweight wheels or upgrade to PCCBs or drive more my garage queen.

Bump.

Has anyone found out about how aftermarket wheels with more aggressive offsets than OEM may impact handling and braking? I'm considering P101s to reduce a bit of weight and to get a nearly flush fitment, but after researching all the negative consequences of spacers I'm wondering whether aftermarkets of the same size would similarly degrade performance?

I was going to do this but if I recall correctly the offsets weren't correct for the GTS. Need to look into this..

Here are the numbers:

55mm Front 47mm rear offset for the GT3 wheels.
HRE flush fit use 44 front and 45 rear.
Stock GTS are 51mm front and 63mm rear
The issue is the front and from looking at the pics it now makes sense.. They are way too tucked in for my taste.

The lower the number the more they "stick out"
45-47mm is the magic number for the rears. That is flush fit (tires can effect this too)
I think 44mm is the correct number for the front as well. The GT3 wheels are certainly nicer and more aggressive than stock,
but if you can pick the "right" offset it would be 44/45 for me..

Rears look fine.

Just noticed the 3/4 shots and the fronts are definitely tucked.

You are correct: rears are a bit more out compared to the original wheels, front are more tucked in: not so much compared to the original wheels, but seems more tucked in because of the more outer rear wheels.
I’ll make some clearer pictures later.
