Ever seen paint issues in a BRAND NEW CAR?

I've seen this issue pop up in this and other forums. Some have become so accustomed to the problem, that their automatic first step is to take a car from the dealership and take it to a detailer (at their own expense).
The Problem: "There are squiggly lines in the clear coat of the paint."
The Cause: "The clear coat has imperfections in it from moisture under the protective wrap getting into the clear coat during transport. PCNA is aware of this issue. The moisture is able to get into the clear coat because the clear coat has not cured enough before the wrap is applied."
The Solution: (my summary) Put it into a spray booth, crank it up to 150F and let it sweat for 10-15 minutes.
What a tragedy it would be to take a brand new car to a detailer, who will try to color sand the clear, level out factory orange peel, probably create swirl marks, and/or thin the clear. Also in case you're asking - no a heat gun won't do the trick. The uniformity of a booth's heated air flow can't be duplicated by a heat gun.

Yes, had these when I picked up my Carrera. All over the car. Not many, but there, and on a lot of panels.
"Just put it out in the sun—they will all disappear," one of the sales guys said. When I looked at him in disbelief, he followed that up with: "If that doesn't work, we will put it in an oven and that will do the trick."
But, sure enough, a few days in the sun was all that was needed. All of the lines disappeared.

I had this under the blue plastic protector on the front bumper.
The dealer was apparently aware of the problem. Kept the car for a day, applied the heat and everything is good.

I wonder if a detailer tries to polish these down, and then the car is left out in the sun, whether the reverse imprint of the lines will show up since it was flattened with moisture trapped in the clear coat...

I've seen much worse than some squiggly lines in the clear coat on a brand new Porsche. Or even Lambo and Ferrari. The paint on all these cars is in pretty bad shape from the factory and could benefit from a paint correction. I'm really picky about my cars so it's worth it to me.

I had one of these spots on the roof - been meaning to check and see if it's cleared up yet with the heat here in Houston. Thanks for the reminder!

Just an update...my spot on the roof is still there after parking in the sun several days last week (90+ each day). Guess it's detailer time.
