Default Wish me luck with PDK

After 3 911s all MT (997.1 C2S, 991.1 C2S and 991.1 GTS) I got 991.1 TTS, obviously PDK.
It is very different in many respects. Many things to like and appreciate, PDK is yet to prove itself for me, although with that torque it is GREAT FUN in manual Sport and Sport+ modes.

So like I said, wish me luck

IMHO the PDK shines at the track. Go test it out there if you can.

I am in my first PDK 911 also and it is a TTS 991.1. After over 10 911's 4 which were MT TT's.
I am into my second year with the TTS and first the car is amazing, beautiful to look at, fast and drivable every day. I too was very cautious about the PDK. My routine is to drive it in manual mode as much as possible. The car does everything well and the PDK tranny is perfect.
I added the Cobb tune with PDK Upgrade and the extra power is awesome and the shifting in auto is much more livable and in manual is faster and more GT3 like.
These are amazing cars, this will be a keeper as I can't think of what I would rather have.

Do yourself a favor and get some debris screens for your bumper for your 1st modification.

No luck needed. I've been driving 911's since 1984. All have been manuals until my current 991.1 GTS with PDK. I'll never go back to manual.

You certainly picked a nice one! I love those hips in blue and the two-tone interior! Enjoy!

I grew up with manuals, but I've honestly never regretted moving on to PDK. I specced a PDK in my GT3 as well. As long as you shift it manually it can be a lot of fun in its own way, in some ways even more fun than a a manual since you can so easily keep the engine in the powerband and shift so much more often than you could with a manual. I'm definitely a convert.

I grew up on manuals and loved the engagement and still do, however time marches on. There is nothing that can compare to the the PDK, except the PDK S. Most of my track buddies drive manuals and look at me like I am a poser with PDK. I don't care and love to be on a straight and watch them lose a couple of tenths and distance with every shift. It brings a smile to my face. For the life of me, I can't figure why anyone would drive a manual. If one wants to be a purist, I get that but then don't drive a care that is a rolling computer.

Thank you everybody.

Someone mentioned luck and warranty I purchased Porsche OEM extended warranty till 2024/100K miles. The cost is 11K. It is giving me 4 more years after CPO expires in Oct. 2020 (unlimited mileage on that one). So, assuming I keep the car after 2020 (as it sure seems to be a keeper) do you guys think it makes sense to keep extended one for 4 more years or do cancel? The TTS buy was an impulse buy and I admit I did not do my homework, so no knowledge on reliability concerns for 991.1 TTS. One thing for sure it has lots of things that could go wrong.

As for the radiator grills, yes this will be #1. I even asked the dealer if they can put them on right away, but they do not carry any grills in their stock, IMO they could've made sone money if they did as GTSs and (now I know) TTSs do not come with the grills.
Here is my GTS with that upgrade

I am warming up towards PDK with every drive now. It is indeed way more fun than I would've though it was.

I am very impressed by PDK in my 991.1 S. IMHO it makes the 911 the perfect GT. I always thought I wanted a MT 911, until I drove the PDK. When I need a taste of a MT, I drive my Caterham.

How funny, that very car caught my eye at Sonnen, the price seemed right, looked like a beautiful condition car, but I dawdled a little too long (well, three days of BottleRock and lengthy recovery period afterwards didn't speed up the process!).

Let us know how you like it compared to your GTS, I would be very interested to hear your thoughts.

I've also ALWAYS been a manual guy (997.1 TT), but am ready to try PDK.
