Default 991.2 C2S Ordered!

Been lurking for well over a year. Looked at and test drove all sorts of cars - s6, a7, 540i. Then I started thinking about a sports car and test drove a 991.2 base. The test drive was very quick -up the highway, u turn and back the other way on the same highway. The only thing I got out of that drive was that it was loud on the highway. Needless to say I was not blown away.
A few months passed and I kept thinking about the carrera and reading this forum. I realized to know if it was right I would need far more than a quick 10 minute spin on the highway, so I rented a 991.1 base for 24 hours.
That was all it took. The search was over and I was hooked. Last I needed to decide between the .1 and .2. This one was tough. I loved the .1 I rented. The engine sound in the cabin was intoxicating and I thought it was better looking. In the end I decided I wanted more low end power over the fantastic sounding engine and whatever other advantages come with an updated model. Plus the look of the .2 had started to grow on me.

I really did not want to wait three to four months for a custom order but I was not able to find a car on any lot that met my criteria save for one that was not exactly what I wanted but was close. They dropped the price on it quite a bit as it was a 2017 and after about two days I decided it was close enough given the price. I called up and was ready to buy but told it was already sold. I hesitated and missed that one. You live and learn.

After finding nothing else used or new that met my criteria I told my dealer I was ready to place an order. I was told they actually had no allocations for an C2S and would have to try and trade for one. I wrote them a deposit check and sent in my build code and after about a week my SA told me they found me one, and that it should be ready for pick up around the end of August.

At first I thought waiting three months would be torture, and while I do want the car now, i’ve learned to accept the idea that I’m just going to have to wait.
And so the wait begins. As soon as it arrives I’m going to get full PPF so ease my mind regarding swirls on the black paint. Here’s my spec:

Another happy ending! Did you test drive a 991.2 S yet? If not you will likely really like it. Oh and if not loud enough for you, just wind it up to 7k and trust me, it will scream!

I’m also told by my dealer that the ‘19 Cab S I ordered in April will be ready around that time. Similar build, I got a few more gizmos.....

I did test drive the .2 S Put it into sport plus and pressed the response button and put the gas pedal on the floor from a standstill. The take off was so quick, and definitely felt quicker to me than the base off the line. The base is awesome in its own right. S may actually be too much power. We shall see.

I drove cars with and without PSE and inside the cabin I could not really notice much difference so elected to leave it off and put the money towards a full PPF. Plus I like the look of the non PSE exhaust better.

I wanted one and my dealer could only promise to "try" and that I should expect at least a 120 day wait on a car (that was in January).

Nice. That is pretty close to the perfect 911 in my opinion. If i could do it again it would be that car.
