Question 1st Service Timing

Hello All:

Bought a 2017 C42 couple of weeks ago.

Car was manufactured May 15, 2017, sold and warranty punched August 1, 2017 traded to selling dealer in December 2017 and sat at dealership until I bought it; manager put about 500 miles on it while at dealership.

Bought the car without CPO and 2,800 mile on it.

The care has yet to have its 1st service.

Opinions in how long I should wait to get it doem would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

Usually its a year or 10K, but many here do an oil change much sooner. You might consider doing an oil change before summer.

Check the service indicator in the car.

The oil has been in there a year, and its the initial factory fill. If it were me, I'd get it changed.

I just purchased a non CPO 2017 C2S with 4,000 miles and the dealership performed its service before I picked it up. It was sold new at the same dealership October 2017. I should add I also requested it to be done after settling on price paid for the car.

When was the car put into service? Do the oil change 12 months from that date.

I'd get oil changed too.

I'd follow the manual. 1 year or 10k miles which ever comes first.

Then change the oil just prior to 8/1/18.

I agree with the recommendation to get the oil changed now since its past its first birthday.

I bought a new 2017 C2S that was built late 2016 and spent its first year on the dealer's lot. The dealership did the 1 year service / change oil, the month before I purchased it. A Carfax report confirmed the service was done.

You could change the oil at some point in the coming months, and if you like twisting wrenches, it's a super easy DIY. Dealers must be making a killing on 991 oil changes.
