I had same issue a few years back, but with 1k miles. I bought the PZero but than had a friend needing new tires for his 991.1 and he bought my slightly used PZeros and I bought Michelin PS4S which I strongly preferred. Ultimately depends on your cost/value opinion.

As for tire choice, I went with Kumho Ecsta PS91's. Half the price of Michelins and I've been very happy with them. I drive my car hard and have 15+ years of track time, and would be able to tell if they're garbage. I like them way more than the Pirellis that were on my car. They're quiet and sticky with very predictable breakaway characteristics.
Agree with your comment regarding mismatched tires. It is the size matched by axle. I run factory P Zero on front axle with Michelin on rear axle. No issues. When front axle P Zero wear out, will replace with Michelin’s also but no reason to trash two perfectly good tires.

So I'm sitting there sweating it out as this clueless student has no idea how close to mayhem he's coming lap after lap. Even tried several times to point it out to him- "did you feel that? Didn't you notice that? Etc."
Some it seems learn easy, some not so easy. Finally one lap he goes just that little bit beyond and ..... before he even figures out what's going on I said, "Both feet in."
Because only very rarely is obliviousness confined to one area of life.

Hard or easy. Choice is yours.
I guess you overlooked OP’s original statement : “I am not tracking the car.”

Thanks guys. This post was originally from 2018. I ended up just replacing the one tire with the same P-Zero, since it was low mileage there was no need to shave down the tire or anything. I have since put another 7k miles on those tires with several AX sessions. The tires are now definitely at the end of their useful life, I can tell that the rears are not holding any longer as I try to go faster on the AX course.
My next tires will be the Michelin PS4's.

PS4S on 991 and PSS on M3. Best tires ever! P0 on mini will switch to Michelin.

This was a timely thread! Ordered PS4S’s this past weekend and looking forward to having them installed this coming weekend.

Don't mix tire brands or "models"

Tire rack will shave tires so you can buy one rear and have it shaved to match the tread depth of your other (non-punctured) rear tire

I purchased PS4S for my C2. I upsized both the front and the rear 255/35 front and 315/30 rears.

Did you buy new rims?
On my existing rims I can mount either 295 or 305 in the rear, but don't think I could go to 315.

Yes, I'm getting 20x9 fronts, but the rears will be the stock width of 11.5 (20" of course).
If you go to Michelin's website, the 315/30 will fit on a 10.5 - 11.5 width rim. So you're good to go if you want to run the 315 rears. Michelin states that the 11.5" wide rim is the max width for that time.

Thanks!
I don't know that I am ready to go to 315, but I was debating whether to go with 295 vs. 305.
What are the pro's and con's to consider?
I do have wheelspacers already but I think they are only 5mm

I wanted a more aggressive tire front and rear for added grip. I will be tuning my car as well.
If your car is NA, I'm not sure you'll need the added rubber. Power delivery is completely different with an NA engine vs. tuned turbo engine.
I'd do 305 if I were you though. It was the standard width for the S cars. 5mm spacer shouldn't affect anything at all.

That screw is very good luck for you. Pirellis suck dead donkey dick. Now you have the perfect excuse to buy Michelins. Good for you!

Think of all the money you’re going to save on Tylenol to kill the headache from those rotten noisy low traction Pirellis. What crap.
