Plus you get to put the $1500 to $2000 toward performance enhancing drugs, I mean options.
all correct on paper, for a race car at least, but what is the actual measured performance difference between a car with a sunroof and one without?

Marginal.. Driver weight differences could overcome that. Weather can have a heavier influence.

It would matter if you're out there trying to break records.

I was always a cab guy until the glass option became available, now I have the best combination of light/open air without going topless.

To each his own, but as appealing as the thought of a sunroof is, I always find that the drawbacks, including hot interior and everything else I said above, far outweigh the fleeting benefit of having some extra light and air in the interior.

I always have to chuckle a bit on these thoughts. Some people won't want a sunroof due to weight, balance, etc, etc.....and then turn right back around and order adaptive seats, cooled seats and all sorts of other crap (to me that is) that are actually heavier compared to the sunroof. I will never order adaptive seats (way too heavy and the simple 4-way sport seats are fantastic) and cooled seats which I find worthless at best (I had them before), just my .02

I love my glass roof and Burmester,....two things that bring a smile to my face every drive,....and my GTS is not slower compared to any other one out there because of them.

Glass sunroof is too heavy? What about 3k for a sound maker that adds no performance? Best performing 911 variant as far as I know is the GT3 with the PDK and basic seats. Can't get a sunroof in the GT3.

I have 3M crystalline all round but only the standard tint on the roof, may have to rethink that as my first summer with the car approaches.

I saw a demo of 3M Crystalline compared to other brand of blackout tint and a heat lamp. The difference in heat transfer was SHOCKING. I would never use anything but 3M Crystalline.

I have the glass roof. Rarely open it but enjoy the light coming in. C4S cab before this so maybe that helps.

I love mine. Like another poster stated, I have tinted side and rear glass and always use a windshield sun shade on sunny days. I've used windshield sun shades in my cars forever. It's a chore at times but makes such a difference in cabin temperatures. I also use it because I feel it helps keep my cars interior looking newer longer.

+1 on the LOVE the Glass Sunroof. I seldom open the glass, but keep the shade open to get the light in. It just brings so much more detail to the interior, and feels more open. I would not have bought it without it, and I'm glad I did. Additionally, the effect of the black roof over GT Silver metallic is just beautiful!

Love my glass sunroof, would not order a coupe without it. I like the light coming in the cabin from the roof and so far have never found the cabin too hot after parking on a hot day with the sunscreen retracted. Everyone has a different opinion and there is no right answer. Buy what you like and what works for you.

Love mine. I'm in Nevada so I get plenty of sun. No problem for me.

I understand the attraction to a glass sunroof but why does the entire roof have to be black glass? To me looks like a big black dot on an otherwise beautiful car. Ugly, ugly!

I like the clean look of the metal roof. On a Carrera T I find it curious to have the “light” elements like the doorstraps en the thinner glass combined with the glass roof. Not saying you’re going to notice it while driving but just looks a bit odd to me on the T model.
