It is a beautiful car. If you have gotten yourself to the ledge you don't need us talking you off of it. Nothing wrong with sending it down the line to the next owner that will love it. You will have your next toy soon. Let someone else feel the love for this one you once had.

It’s a difficult thing really. I love the Targa... I mean I adore it. I had a PTS allocation for my GT3 and had British Racing Green spec’d. I got caught up in the “no more GT3 PTS” drama than came down from Zuffenhausen so my GT3 is now GT Silver. I did get some interesting cxx... pepita inserts, white gold metallic wheels and side stripe, CF shifter etc but.... Still it won’t likely grab ones attention like Irish green (Irish green was F Porsche’s favorite color hence the 1mm car in Irish green) but its a hell of a car and for sure a keeper regardless of color.
Anyway the Targa is a different car and I have become very attached to it. It’s nimble, handles so well, shifting the gears is intoxicating and of course it opens to the stars but not a cabrio plus I don’t get center lock anxiety on road trips (the few short ones I have taken). People react so well to the car because it is so beautiful. I don’t really have room for it comfortably but I can’t seem to let go of it. I suppose for the right price everything is for sale but I almost hope that right price never gets offered. A PTS allocation isn’t as common as you might think and then if you get one of course the price has really gone up. I think i’m Gonna keep it unless someone else down the road prys her away with another bunch of green stuff I really like.... cash - but it would definitely be a bitter sweet situation. Until then I’m making room. Thank you for all the perspective. Your compliments helped me back away from the ledge.....

Great decision, at least until the GT3T arrives IMO. People (including myself) swoon over the GT models but they are much more focused for better or worse, and the "regular" 911s are still very much special cars. Targa (& PTS) maybe even more so!

Keep them both! Best of both words! First world problems for sure.

Fair market value of your car is easily estimated plus or minus 10-15%. Would you rather have the money or the green car? If it were a piece of art that I liked I wouldn't sell it. Cars are harder to store and maintain but this is a cost/benefit analysis.I think of my car as a piece of modern minimalist sculpture that makes me very happy.
