Default Good Bye plantation shutters ! (new grille)

I never took to the regular 991 3 slat engine grille... Reminds me of the plantation shutters in my old FL house.. (it's probably fine in other colors, not insulting your car here)...
By the same token I never could make myself write the $1625 check, which is a total ripoff from Porsche, vs other pieces... But still, I caved in...

Before. Blah.

Dirty under there.. Washed and waxed, and thanks for the 6mm socket tip, took 5 minutes to do, total !

I love the new grille, and the anniversary version with some chrome reminds me of the older 911s which is a look I like...

for obvious reasons...

A ridiculous amount of coin. Same grille for an aircooled car is $200-ish....
It's highway robbery...and yet they got my money. I feel very guilty about it but I love the look !
All I need to finish it to my liking would be Fuchs / anniversary wheels and it'd be the modern clone of it's grandma above.
But there's a limit, $8000 for those wheels is NOT something I'll ever cave for...

That looks great. I think this was (a lot of) money well spent. Actually walked with my Ipad to the garage to picture how it would look on mine...

Nice! Looks great—especially with the longhood nearby. Makes your 991.1 look significantly more mechanical, especially since it's a white car, no bad thing to these eyes.

You even got me to looking up the matching grilles for the front bumper...yikes! They're MORE expensive.

Thanks Pete... The goal is to bring her closer to the oldie... But yeah, I cannot justify the fuchs yet ;-)
You might have missed the important bit ;-)

just as I was starting to feel less guilty... (it is a lot of dough for a grille, can't dispute that, IMO in normal world it'd cost $300 - it is a little nicer than the aircooled grille finish wise).

I think that was a nice, visually effective upgrade. I've considered it for my (white) car, too. As you know, both the regular black and the 50th style grilles are about the same price. IMO, the chrome trimmed version works best on a car where you use the embedded third brake light, such as yours Greg, but on mine where I don't use that light (use the one on the ducktail), the regular black one might be the way to go to minimize attention to the unnecessary brake light opening. Anyway, well done!

Porsche doesn't use the GTS grill with the duck tail , they revert to the three slat grill due to aerodynamics. I also like the GTS grill much better .

Oh, I spotted it. Actually noticed it as you drove by Sonnen one day. I think I was there to drop off my GT4—it definitely made me smile.

As for "Fuchs," which ones? Your car is a narrow car, right? We need the factory (or someone) to make an NB version of the 911-50 rear wheels—preferably like those on the "F22.2" concept. And, if they finished the centers in all gray like the current RS Spyder Design wheels—so that those mono crests could be used—well, that'd be pretty neat. And allow others to paint the centers as they please.
