My dealer charged me $480 last year for just an oil change. Guess who is changing the oil this year...?

thanks, did not know that! Mine is a 2017, one year comes up on Aug 21st, but I am only at 2,256 miles. If it’s free I will have them do the first then I will most likely handle it going forward.

+1

The other thing is, it's a time-saver. No dropping your car off, waiting, picking it up, paying the bill, etc. 45 mins in your home garage and you're done.

How the hell are they charging so much? I don't think I've ever seen a easier car to change oil on.

Mine is 17 and first change was free.
I'm pretty sure it's 2018 model year in the US which gets the first included in the purchase price, although some were delivered in 2017.

bummer, oh well. I still may do it myself, not necessarily to save money but I don’t want any scuffs, etc on my car, it’s always a gamble handing the keys over to somebody else. As far as service records go, the recipes from the auto parts store don’t reall document what I purchased. What do you guys do to document the oil change.

I note it in my maintenance books where the dealer is supposed to stamp the service. I also save the receipts and keep them in there as well.

Timely, post I am doing brake flush and oil change this weekend. I went to Walmart to buy my oil and three was no 0W-40 to be found. Went to Auto Zone and paid $10 more. Needless to say, I am pissed off. Where did all the oil go?

I downloaded it but it looked like it was just a personal log. Or does it really allow you do upload your own oil change so it will appear as a line in the formal carfax report? Anyone know for sure?

Like the Danube part...LOL I do mine myself on my old 997.1 and 981.1 cars but in this one you can't see anything without taking off the engine cover right? So dealer did my last one for about $230.
