Ahhhhhh, a low oil level, caused it. Simple as that. He had a low oil warning. Over-filled it by about 200 mls. If he over-filled it by 1,000 mls, he would be having the RED warning.
If you don't believe me, do this; add 200 mls oil before EVERY drive cycle. Get your oil over 215 degrees. Keep adding 200 mls before every drive cycle. Eventually' you'll get the "yellow OK to drive on" warning.

I see your point. But, it could be. We don't really have enough info from the OP. Level ground for readings? Oil temp? Lots of short trips (condensation build-up), then a spirited drive (condensation burns off, and oil level drops), did he pour from a sealed quart or a 5 litre jug from Walmart.. Just a few random thoughts.

Took my 991.1 S out of storage yesterday and drove it for about 20 km's ...get to a light and get a ' low oil do not drive' flash on the dial so I get home a few min later, add 1 liter of Mobil 0-40 and within in 5 minutes I get an 'overfill' 'driving permitted'. Not entirely sure what's up because whenever I would add oil in the past just to top up, even after service, 1 litre would never create an overfill condition. Thoughts?
Is your car leaking/using oil?

Using a little. For example oil service at dealer....they fill to the 'min' oil level. Does not take much driving to get an 'add oil' code. So 1 litre from that point never got to overfill. I would say it consumes a little oil, maybe 200-300 ml over the course of 8000km of fairly hot summer driving. No tracking.

I had a similar problem in my 2016 Cayenne Hybrid...... it was driving me crazy. Took it to the dealer and they changed the sensor since there was a campaign related to it.
While driving all of a sudden it will show me the low oil indicator and with 1 liter of oil or less it would show me the overfill indicator. After several days, I would again get the low level warning.

And at the dealer they can read the level instantaneously using their computers so they should get it right every time.

+1 dipstick key start
+1 I would love a dipstick, and I do appreciate them leaving our real key and not installing one of those aggravating push buttons.

crap on our car, don't you just wish you have a oil dipstick ?[/QUOTE]

In the quest to fully electrify the vehicle (my Audi SQ5 and BMW X4 are the same way) manufacturer's have made these needlessly complex. There was never anything wrong with this - no sensors - dead nuts reliable - easy to use.

Pretty sure Audi will sell you one of these for your SQ5.
