Talk Me Out of Getting a Black 911

Black it totally worth it. NOTHING more beautiful than a black car ... timeless, classic, never out of style. Color trends come and go. You are rewarded like no other color when clean, don't settle.

My first car was black and since then never again. It's just too much work even though black is best when it's squeaky clean and freshly waxed. My wife loves black 991 and tried to persuade me. I ordered white instead.

I’m OCD so no black for me. Having said that I did own three black cars... in a row. I’m over that phase now. I will probably never get another black car.
So yes definitely get a black car, then get two more just to make sure it’s not for you. Then you can die in peace.

Are you the type to only admire your car/paint from 5-feet away? Are you OK with seeing swirls in certain light? Going to hand wash and garage it for weekend use?
Answer no to any of these, and you should stay away from black
Edit: Also, If resale is a concern, there are a lot of black 911s on the Porsche preowned listing.

I have a black on black Macan S and live in the Northeast.
NEVER AGAIN!
I am not sure where you live, but if it's a 4-season state I would definitely refain.
Not sure how you feel about Agate Gray, but it's a great color and a whole lot less maintenance. Still looks great when slightly dirty.

a black luxury sedan is the reason I own a 911
after a 4 hour detail I realized I had zero emotion about the vehicle, it was a constant source of work
joined Rennlist on a Sunday, owned a silver 911 on Friday

If you like black you should get it. I kept a black ram 3500 long bed clean for a dozen years. Not a problem. Gee, these cars are so wee, I wash and wax in a fraction of the time of a full size vehicle. Go for it. Don’t compromise if possible.
