Default New Wheels up on 991 Turbo Configurator - could be for 992 also...

Hey guys and gals,

Looks like new wheels are up on the configuratior. Not my style but they are up for 15K (dang expensive). And they are Carbon Fiber wheels. I will pass on these for the 992, again not for me.

PS - Saffron Yellow Metallic Color is gone too

Due to the material, carbon wheel design is boring and hella expensive, I would spend money on PCCB first before the wheels to save unspung weight.

Look like R34 Skyline GTR wheels.

Great find, now Porsche needs to do something original and not copy GTR wheels. Seriously, Excellent find. And those GTR wheels could be 5 lug vs Porsche GTR Copy wheels with CL.

Those wheels made with carbon fiber look like that because they have to be engineered like that to be strong and not because they were designed to be positive looking.
There is nothing stopping you designing aesthetically with carbon, arguably easier than cast or billet alloys

They look better to me than the stamdard Turbo wheels. I was never a fan of the machined faces on those, I think that look is played out and it's time to move on.

I should clarify my original comment to say I love how they look, and my Skyline comment was really a compliment. But, $15k? A whole lot of nope right there.

Read this about the performance of carbon fiber wheels and you just might check off that option box.

Thanks for the great share.

I originally had the same idea, that the weight savings will be there with the tires which would translate to faster times. But the Porsche Design could be made more aesthetically pleasing. Maybe Fuch wheels in Carbon Fiber...

Willing to bet that these tires will be showcased with the 992 Turbo ads and what not
