^^ This was my impression as well. I was dead set on graphite blue, until I saw it in person. In certain light it looks great, but most of the time it looks very bland.
i felt the same for Lava Orange, i had almost fixed the order when the local dealer showed me a paint sample, I had seen it on a GT3 RS in London and had loved it, but in the harsh Indian sunlight, it looked faded, so i went for Miami Blue instead, and dont regret it.
In the german configurator, you can still spec it. I just tried the Targa and the GTS coupe. The T would not offer this color but I think to remember they had a limited color list from the beginning.
EU configurator is still MY2018. I believe it will update soon.

I just saw a Lava Orange today for the first time and my first thought was how faded it looked. There are other PTS oranges that are better, IMHO.
Had I spec'd my car myself; I would have never chosen GBM. I bought it because it was the right car, at the right time and price. I get so many compliments by random people wherever I'm parked and I live in an area full of nice cars. The color is really growing on me. My dream 911 has always been white. I may get one someday but this one I find very pleasing!
I believe a CGT owner w/ 997 4.0, 991.2 GT3, multiple 964 and classic Porsches lives in your area.
Didn't realize it was gone, so those 3 colors SB, RS and GBM become PTS colors in 2019 and beyond.........got a compliment today at a stoplight.............
