Default "German Oil"

Hi all,

Went to a shop in the NYC area that is highly recommended by folks on the forums/locally. They specialize in Ferrari/Porsche. Not naming names for the sake of the shop.

I inquired about an oil change coming up soon and the lady at the front desk said "We only use a German oil approved by Porsche." but she couldn't name it.

Is there an oil brand I'm missing that is better or equal to Mobil 1 / Should I be using this? / Why?

Thanks in advance!

Probably Castrol, but the "Euro formula" which is A40.

There are over 100 Porsche A40 approved oils. Just pick one, and change it every 5,000 miles, or yearly, or every 5-years from a dead guy. RIP.

Any full synthetic oil on the Porsche list will be equal or better than Mobil 1. That oil sticker under your hood is paid for by the Exxon advertising department.

Cold pressed extra virgin olive oil is very good, nice aroma - or better still (where I live) fully synthetic Porsche spec Mobil 1 (suitable for your operating environment) changed regularly.
