Dealer discount on order
I've heard that the discount on cars ordered from the factory can be 6% to 9%, is that accurate?
Is it too late in the model year to place an order for a GTS?
Are paint to sample orders available on the GTS?
Thanks in advance

1) Good luck with that. But then again if you're a very good negotiator or are loading your order with options...
2) No, IF you can find an allocation. Maybe on the lot dealer inventory? Or maybe a MY 2019 allocation?
3) Probably off the table at this time. Ask your dealer - stranger things have happened.

I asked for and got a 6% discount on a 2018 C4S last year. About 18k in options. Dealer had 2 allocations for 4S models. Also traded in a Porsche.
Don't know about the rest.

1. Discount varies on dealer and continent... For US there are many members to share their opinion. Based on my understanding 7-8% for an ordered car is very good deal.
2. MY2018 allocations closed. Not possible to get a new one. Production is for June 2018 therefore no time. In case you will get an allocation it will be for MY2019 and production either July or September.
3. No PTS available for current product line. PTS created big delays and currently is limited only to GT cars.

Thanks gentlemen.
I was fairly sure that there were discounts, but not positive.
I did not know when production closed, I don't want anything odd and suspect I can find what I want.
I'd dearly love a PTS color. I tried to get a PTS on my GT4, but no luck!

I got 6% on a C2S order last September with a February 18 delivery.
I would speculate that is much tougher now because there are not that many 991.2 GTS allocations left period at this point.

Spoke with dealer today.
Yes they discount.
Does not think there will be more 18 allocations (but might), will have 19's
PTS is available, but very unlikely for 18's.
I'll have to look at the 19's to see what they are supposed to change (not much, I'll bet)

Getting any kind of meaningful discount on an ordered 911 GTS allocation right now is next to impossible. For the first half of 2018, dealers in the US received almost no 911 GTS inventory. There’s very little supply and a 911 GTS is very easy merchandise for dealers to sell.
Everyone on Rennlist claims to get staggering discounts through super-power negotiation skills, so take those claims with a grain of salt.
There was a thread last year on Rennlist where a guy claimed to get nearly 20% off a new, in-stock GTS. What he didn’t tell the forum is that the car sat on the dealer lot for a year and a half. Very small dealer with a goofy configuration and desperate to get it off their floor plan.
Most GTS’s are sold closer to MSRP than invoice.

I got a discount on an ordered GTS that I picked up a week ago (and I had no trade in) - I had at least two local dealers offer me discounts on an ordered GTS, with no trade in, at that time. I ordered it when allocations were thin (October) and within days allocations dried up completely, at least at my local dealer.
It is probably quite different now until we find out how many allocations are available for 2019. Ask around at a few dealers and you will quickly get the answer to what discounts can be had right now.

Possibly. The 2013 Boxster S I traded in was a 70k car and they gave me 44k, above Edmunds and KBB pricing. Car was in excellent shape with 18k miles. I think being a repeat customer helped. Also I bought the Boxster from them new and the car was serviced by them. That helps a lot with trade in values.
