I don't have a Targa but I have had a smart top on my 981 for 5 years so I can speak to the reliability of it. I am estimating that I have used it between 2 and 3 thousand times on my car. (I have 41k on my 981).
No problem. Always reliable.
I like the ability to put up the roof remotely.
