That's certainly understandable! That's quite a barrier to entry they give you. You are wise not to let good fortune tempt you into doing something you shouldn't.
There are some very good 991.1s, 997s, and Caymans out there that might be more in your comfort range. Or there's other great things to do with that much cash too!

Three Wheelin'
Well, after all the excitement and delight we have been kicked in the nuts today. We found out the taxes to be paid to clear the car in Ireland is in excess of €55,000, approx $68,000. (I expected it to be less that €40,000 which was just about borderline affordable) As a result we have no choice but to leave the car go and accept the lesser value option of taking the cash. Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I'll be looking for something else Porsche in the coming months. Pity it's not a new T. I am gutted to be honest.
Holy molly....$68,000 on tax. No wonder there are more Irishmen overseas than in Ireland.
