Broken seat lever....

So, I just got my 2017 Targa 4S back from service, where they replaced the front passenger hinge covers for the third time. I thought they just hadn't done it previously, but my rep was insistent that they actually had. I pushed on how this could keep happening in a seat that is rarely used, and my guy went back to the technicians. Apparently, the bolts underneath were jutting out too far and breaking the hinge covers from underneath. Since list price for this piece of plastic is over $100, worth looking into if it happens to you outside of warranty.

Don't mean to bring up an old threat but my C2S has these seat hinge covers cracked on both seats. Do you still have the repair order and part numbers? I found this 99152131600D20, but I think that's just the outer cover. I'm not sure if there's an inner side cover that needs to be replaced as well.

My father had the same problem on his Boxster 718 and a friend of mine made new, stronger, levers using 3D printing. They turned out really nice!

Mine went Missing
Hello all, I currently find myself in the missing lever situation. I ordered a new and tried to pop in and it broke. After I couldn’t get it to fit correctly and while pulling it out it broke. Smh. So I had to order a new one and this time I will allow the dealership to install.
Just out of curiosity. NiteJay, you stated that it was an 30sec fix for the dealership. Can you please confirm how the installation process went on this little nightmarish little ****? If anyone else has any experience please pass along.
Thanks in advance to all take the time to share and respond.

Reviving old thread, but just replaced mine. Was not as easy as I thought. Removing old broken pieces was relatively simply. The process of getting new one into position took more elbow grease that expected but it did work.

I found that the two side clips need to be pressed together with some force while you are pushing the replacement lever on the metal handle. You know it’s on when the “click” sound is heard. I expected it to slide in much easier.
