The Porsche 993... Its discontinuation marked the end of air-cooled Porsches, with the 993 being the last air-cooled 911. The 993 generation of the 911 is often referred to as the best and most desirable of the 911 series, not only because of its beauty, but also because of its great performance, even by modern standards. The 993 is quoted as "the last complete 'modern classic'"; "the 993 was and forever will be that last fresh breath of air that Porsche gave the world; elegance and muscle all in one package."[3] The book "Porsche 993 - Essential Companion" refers to the 993 as the "King of Porsche," and it is generally acknowledged as "The purists' Holy Grail."

993 Headlights
The 964 imo was a better looking car than the 993. The 996 taught us that you cannot muck about with the headlights without changing the character. Must drive the propeller heads in stutgart crazy as the bug eyes have to create drag.

Gents,
we have in EU new regulations for emissions starting 01st Sep. All cars being registered after that date will probably need a particle filter. That might be a cause for the interruption.

I had a commission number, never a V200 status. SA didn’t have much else to offer as far as alternative model allocations. He offered to try and find something close to my spec already on the ground or wait for the 992. I pulled the plug and got my deposit back, no harm no foul.

Man thats unfortunate. Its gonna be a while till the 992 hits the showrooms. Hopefully you get a great deal on a lot car from them before the 992 comes out. What was your build code?

Maybe for the 2018 MY. 2019 MY allocations won't be published for a month or two. Per another thread on RL, the factory is scheduled to shut down from mid-July, 2018 to mid-August, 2018. Do you really think they are going to be twiddling their fingers until 992 production starts in late 1Q or early 2Q 2019? My Magic 8-Ball says there will be a gradual winding down of 991.2 production, concurrent with a gradual ramping up of 992 production.

Changing the car’s name from Boxster to 718 was a stupid move. Changing the motor to a 4 banger was even worse.
In my opinion the current bodywork for the Boxster isn’t “soft” enough to appeal to female buyers, and the car isn’t super interesting for men either. I greatly prefer the previous generation of Boxster.
