Default White Crap on my New Michelins

So, got my Michelins mounted and wheels aligned yesterday. When to pick up car and noticed this white cloudy crap on the tire sidewall. SA said that new tires release gases when mounted and filled, they give off some kind of anti mold gas. Said it was easy to take off with degreaser. Well, been scrubbing for hours and have made little dent in trying to remove the white cloud. Right now my new tires look like they have been on the car for 15 years. Any hints on how to get the tires looking like they should -- like new? Pics show what they look like after scrubbing with degreaser. Looked a lot worse before all the scrubbing.

Could it be the sealer they use to adhere the sidewalls to the rims?

I think it is residual " pig fat " which is the lubricant they use to get the tire on the rim.

All new tires have this. https://blog.tirerack.com/blog/tire-...hose-new-tires
It is not a yeast infection.
On the sidewall, probably lubricant as well during installation. They should have washed your car.

What are you using currently to clean it?

Got the same stuff on a new set of SC2's. Must be mold residue.

I would not use a degreaser with any organic solvents on rubber. Will make it worse and destroy the rubber.. Leave it alone and it will go away by itself. I had the same white gunk on my MPSS tires. Unless you like shiny sidewalls , leave it alone.

+1. Just be glad they used plenty of lube and didn't scratch your wheels!

I just had a fresh set of the same rubber MP4S put on my C2S & noticed the same crap. After washing the car it wasn't completely gone but gradually it did go away over a week or so. I understand your pain, the OCD kicked in immediately when I saw it.

It's the lube they used when installing the tire on the rim. They should have washed it off for you while it was still wet. After it's dry, it's a bear to get off. Just give it a reasonable cleaning every time you wash the car. After a while it will go away. Be patient.

In all honesty I would be pissed if my dealer mounted tires and gave them to me like that. They should have cleaned them up. It's a $100k plus car not a pick up.
