Disagree. On both parts. Sorry you're having problems.
My top is 4 years old and still looks brand new. Better than new in fact, since I RaggTopp my cabriolet every other year.
We've seen Rennlisters get their tips replaced under warranty when the unlikely rare events have occurred.
