Default GTS Black Spyder Wheels....

I just got a nice size rock chip on my GTS black wheels and wonder if there is a touch up paint that might hide the white that shows up immediately( which I do not understand and hope someone can explain), but the main point is, what can cover up the white and blend in with the original wheel color. Looks silly right now! Thank you in advance !

I don't think a gloss touch up paint for the body will work on the coating of the black wheels other than temporary. Search for wheel restorers for advise and/or wait for an expert here.

I think using something like 'satin black' touch up will be fine for a small chip. I used this on satin black M5 alloys and it worked well.

I agree with this. Wheels are pretty easy to touch up. Get some touch up paint and go to an art supply store (like Michael's or similar) and pick up a couple of different size small, good quality paint brushes to use for the touch up. You can be a lot more precise than with the brush in the bottle. If you have standard brakes, the quick coverage by the brake dust as soon as you drive the car will render most repairs more or less invisible even if they're not perfect.

Yes very good point !

If you are really nervous then you could paint something flat like a small coin with a few coats of paint and see what it looks like. If it's too shiny but a good colour match then you can experiment with wire wool etc to mimic the flatter finish. Then when you have painted fit masking tape around and buff the dry touch up. I bet you can make the chip disappear with a stool near the wheel to sit on and get serious !

I've used Duplicolor High Temp Ceramic on wheel and caliper chips, and it works great. https://www.rvautoparts.com/DE1635-V...SABEgIEAfD_BwE

For a small touch-up as you speak I use....

https://www.testors.com/product-cata...-paint/markers

flat black

From 1' or more away you can't tell there was a touch-up. Good luck.....

Ignore my recommendation - this seems like a better idea than mine.
