Radio touch screen area keeps turning off....PLEASE HELP!
Took my 2015 C4S out of storage yesterday after 3+ months (used the same Porsche battery tender I've used the past few years).
Car started right up and ran great. Everything seems fine. Then the "touch screen" area that displays radio stations, CD player info, sat radio stations etc. started turning off and on. The screen would go black and then come back on. It is not allowing me to easily change sat radio stations or switch over to CD player.
This has never happened before. Such a PIA. What is happening?

Did you try holding in the power button for about 15 seconds and let it hard re-boot? Also, don't connect your phone to it. You can go in and reset all to factory default as another step. Good luck!

It is completely ridiculous that I should have to waste my time to take a three year old $140K car back to the dealer for a software update. Unbelievable. Next time I'll save $100K+ and buy a F'n Honda

Welcome to modern technology. Pretty much everything needs updating from time to time.

(Unfortunately) I have a little experience with this
A couple of years ago I purchased a 2015 Cayman S from the dealer. The PCM worked fine for a few months, then while streaming TIDAL via bluetooth from my iPhone 7+ the PCM just turned off. A few seconds later, it turned on by itself again. I reconnected via bluetooth and began listening again. Several minutes later, it did the same thing. I switched to CD thinking it was a bluetooth pairing issue. Nope. Same thing. Tried it with the radio... again, same thing. The PCM kept cycling on and off.
I called the dealer and they told me to bring it in so one of their tech guys could take a look. We got in the car and it didn’t take long for him to see the problem. He said that a PCM software update would most likely solve the problem so I left my car there and picked it up the next day. Everything worked well - for a few weeks - and then the PCM shut down and began it’s delayed but consistent on/off cycling. And, again, with all sources: CD/Radio/iPhone.
So I called the “tech guy” again and he said it was most likely my iPhone 7+ that was causing the problem by sending a “virus” (?) into the PCM. He said he would install a brand new PCM under warranty - and advised that I purchase a brand new iPhone so the initial pairing would be between two new devices. I bought an iPhone 8+ ($1,000) and we paired it for the first time with the new PCM. It worked!
Several months later, I traded the Cayman in for a 2016 991.1 GTS. I was worried about the PCM pairing problem, but everything worked fine - until a few months later.
I set another appt. with the dealer. When I arrived, I spoke to a friendly lady service advisor who informed me that this was a very common problem and they had seen a lot of cars in for this same problem. As before with the Cayman, they did a software update on the 991.1 and the PCM worked for a few more months - and then went back to it's on/off problem once again.
At this point, I guess I need to call the dealer again and ask for a PCM replacement under warranty. I’m hoping they won’t ask me to buy another iPhone as I already did this once (my old phone was perfect) and it cost $1,000.
Apparently this problem is more common than Porsche wants to admit. Has anyone had this happen with an Android?
At this point, I think I’ll request a new PCM replacement under warranty - and if this problem happens again I’ll consider aftermarket options.

I'm on wired android auto with a galaxy s20 in a 2017 C2. i was having a few issues getting the setup exactly how I wanted it. finally I erased all of my phone and bluetooth info out of the PCM and started over. I cleared the data and cache in my phone and then completely setup android auto in my phone before connecting back to the car. I have also found that I have to turn off the wifi in my phone when in the car. some apps like waze have a problem connecting to the server, especially once you get farther away from home and I think that it is too busy trying to find a wifi connection. now on cell data only this thing works perfectly. I considered a wireless adapter but a lot of the reviews are not too favourable as far as continuous connections and less than great sound transfer.

The wifi bug isn't even specific to Porsche. When I drive away from home, there is always 1-2 mins where Spotify doesn't want to play a track (unless it's in my library and previously downloaded). Doesn't matter which vehicle I'm in.

I searched around for an answer as to why waze kept losing connection (not porsche specific sites) and all I got was reset the app, reset the PCM, etc. didn't read anything about the issue of having the fone wireless on instead of just data. glad that I figured it out as it was really peeeeeeing me off. I understand the OP being rather peeeeed as well. just hate when some piece of technology doesn't work as advertised or there are intermittent issues.
